Tara Dsilva, a freshman at Mount Saint Mary Academy, recently received the PVSA for her commitment to volunteering with both the young and the elderly. On weekends, Tara spends time volunteering with Samskrita Bharati USA, teaching younger children to read, write and speak Sanskrit, and participating in language immersion gatherings. Additionally, she spends time at a local senior assisted living facility, brightening the lives of 60 residents by playing piano, setting up games, and listening to veterans who have served our country. Tara says her passion for service was instilled in her at a young age, and she has always been inspired to give back to her community.
Sixty-five AT&T employees from Oklahoma were recently rewarded the PVSA for their commitment to volunteerism. Ten of these individuals received the gold-level award for performing more than 500 hours of community service. AT&T honors its employees with the award to encourage giving back to the communities in which they work and live.
“The employees receiving the PVSA are improving our community through their selfless acts every day, whether it’s mentoring students, cleaning up our parks or helping feed those who are hungry,” said Steve Hahn, president of AT&T Oklahoma. “We would like to congratulate these employees, and we hope their stories inspire others as much as they inspire us.”
